After graduating from the Cantonal School in Zurich, Dr. med. Georges Stergiou studied Dentistry at the University of Zurich. He graduated with and wrote his first doctoral thesis under the direction of Prof. Felix Lutz. After working for a short period as a dentist, he continued his studies in medicine, which he completed in 1999. He started his first residency at the Institute of Neuroradiology at the University Hospital, Zurich under Prof. A. Valavanis.

He completed his residency in basic surgical training in Trauma and Visceral surgery at the Regional Hospital, Lachen. Specialist training for Maxillofacial surgeons was completed at the University Hospital, Zurich, where he later worked as an Associate Professor. He wrote his second doctoral thesis under the direction of Prof. Klaus Grätz.

Alongside Dr. med. Cynthia Wolfensberger, he worked in a practice for Plastic and Aesthetic surgery. Dr. Stergiou received further education in Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery from the Department of Facial and Plastic Surgery at Clinic Hornheide in North Rhine-Westphalia (D). Under the umbrella of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, he completed the additional training as a full-fledged cosmetic surgeon (Board for General Cosmetic Surgery).

After a residency of three years he completed his training in Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic surgery at St. Joseph Hospital in Bremerhaven, Germany.
