Does my hair need to be cut before the procedure?
Yes, if possible, the hair should be trimmed down to 1 mm at the harvesting site. In special cases, it is possible to avoid a complete shave by using a specific haircut and a special technique.

Do the results of the Artas® method last?
Yes, the result is permanent because the clusters of hair follicles are taken from the back of your head and re-implanted one by one in the bald spots on the top of your head. This hair is not susceptible to hormonal changes and lasts a lifetime.

Will I experience pain after the procedure? 
Artas® robot-assisted hair transplantation is usually not painful. It is an outpatient procedure using local anesthesia. In rare cases, mild swelling may occur, but this will subside within one to three days when treated with ibuprofen.

Will I have visible scars?
Since there is no need to cut, there is no visible scar as with the FUT (Follicular Unit Transplantation) method. There will only be minimal puncture marks at the harvesting site.

How long does the Artas® procedure take?
Normally, hair transplantation using the Artas® robot takes four to six hours. The duration depends on the amount of hair to be transplanted. The Artas® robot can harvest 1,500 grafts per hour.

What do I do during the procedure?
During the hair transplant procedure, you will sit in a comfortable chair and you will be able to watch a movie or read a book, for example.
